Leveling using different colors affect skill max too?

The help file says that using different color cards to level gains lesser experience rather then using cards with the same color as the one to level.
But does using different color cards also affect the max hp/att/etc..

Sometimes I have zillions of experience dragons, but the wrong color. If it does not affect max reachable att/hp/etc, I don't mind using the wrong color.

Maxed Stats are fixed and are not affected by how you level your cards.
