Galaxy Password

I'm playing on facebook and I'm in galaxy #2.
We are not able to set password for our galaxies. The leader and me (vice) have tried. We are getting the confirmation that the password has been set but there's no lock next to join button.
Is it due to a bug or some restriction we are not aware of?
