Missing Money

While playing last night I had about 479,276,155,063 in the bank. I bid on a couple of items in the auction for around 7,000,000. When I turned on this morning I had received messages telling me I had been outbid and the money had been returned to my bank. I used the clear all button to clear the messages. I then checked my bank to find that I only had 279,276,155,063. I have no new items in my bank or my inventory and can't think of any reason for my money to be gone.
