Player Abusing Guilds

A player using the name "captainslapahoe" AKA Jaycob Pierce on Face Book, is now 9 for 9. Eight guilds before ours, and now kicked out of our guild (WeR) -- for posting messages on the Guild wall about steroids, making fun of another guild mate (who's not the brightest person in the world, but doesn't deserve to be harassed) and finally, hitting on me via private message because I'm the only female in the guild under age 60.

After I kicked him from our Guild, he started spamming both my Face Book "private messages" AND my email address with long lines of "hahahahahahahahahahaha! (word) hahahahahaha ..." I've un-friended him, of course, and blocked him both on Face Book AND from my private email account. Should I really have to go through all that because some jerk gets given a NINTH chance by our Guild Master??

He claimed he has friends in the guild "Just For Fun" -- a guild our GM used to have friends in...

Is it possible to have the game program updated so the GM & GO's can see which guilds a person has been in, and whether that guild tossed them for inactivity (what captainslapahoe claimed) or tossed them for some other reason ...

There used to be a black list on the old forum for warning other guilds about such players but it all got a bit nasty. Nowadays we simply share names of problem players with other guilds we are friends with and hopefully word gets round. Most guilds have a list of people to avoid as a result, so thank you for sharing the info on this one. Guilds will take note of the name :)

If there is such a list, where do I find it? We've had too many testosterone driven boys (and I do mean BOYS, not "young men") cause problems in WeR. Our GM tends to take in the (... how to put it politely?) far less than perfect and lately it's become a problem for me. I would move to another guild, but I've grown my character a few dozen times in this guild. It's been OK until the latest rash of ones who are supposedly being "referred" to us by other guilds.

The original "black list" disappeared with the Facebook forums. It was badly outdated anyway, as players would change names, create new profiles, or just leave the game. The lists that some guilds have made for themselves may be more current, but it may simply be easier to send a message to the GM/GO of the guild that supposedly recommended your applicant and ask if they know the player.

You may want to take a little time to discuss with your GM and fellow GO's the criteria used to determine which applicants to accept. I understand the desire to express guild loyalty, but ultimately, the GM runs the guild and if you cannot agree with the "how" and "why" of accepting new members, you may want to seriously consider changing guilds, if only for your own continued enjoyment of the game.

Good luck with your future recruits. :)

Yes, if one can find the GM on Face Book. There is no method that I know of to directly contact a GM through Dream World. :(

We have discussed it, which is why I started this thread. With the new Face Book "privacy" controls too many GM's and GO's keep their security levels high for their Face Book account and, even it they can be found in a search, they can't be contacted by anyone they haven't already "friended." My own GM does this because his account was hacked a few dozen times. I really don't care about my Face Book account. If it goes down, I'll move on, no big deal. But my GM and his wife have dozens, if not hundreds of family members on Face Book... So, making a long story short, I'm the GO in charge of communicating with other guilds, new guild members, etc. etc. Dream World is the only game I play on Face Book, and if my account gets hacked I lose nothing (other than this game, of course.)

I trust you realize newcomers don't usually come to this forum. It's a hassle to sign up for the first time, and isn't for someone who's just learning the game. So recruiting in this forum is virtually worthless. That's why I posted in this section of the forum. A dev is sure to look here. And the devs aren't leaving a Face Book based guild that prefers low level players many options. As far as I can tell, no one in our guild is actually "enjoying" the game at the moment. I know I'm not. I'm still being spammed on my cell phone by the creep -- and I've finally turned it over to the cops. It's a hell of a note  when a game developer who uses Face Book  refuses to maintain an open forum ON FACE BOOK.

The game's db does not show any offensive guild-wall posts by "captainslapahoe", so they might have been all deleted including those from past 8 guilds. Please make sure you take a screenshot or ask your guild to preserve the offensive posts if player harassment happens again in the future. We have no control over what the person does outside of the game, but I think you did the right thing with the blocking and reporting to legal authorities.

Btw, all developers who were using Facebook's Discussion Board had only two choices when Facebook removed all Application's Discussion Boards, migrate to their own (which we did), or have no community forum period.

Hellhound - to repeat what I posted earlier the list is not published as it simply got nasty. As I said each guild tends to warn each other and keep their own lists of people to avoid as a result.

I too miss the old forum but as the developers have clarified many times, they and other game developers had no choice - this was a change in Facebook
