Can anything be done about the disgusting type and amount of spam? We often direct keen new players to the forum to look for a guild to join or friends for party - and what do they see? Spam on a phenomenal scale, much of which is porn sites

I second this. Something surely can be done. At least a type of filter put on what kind of spam is released. There are plenty of players under 18 who are exposed to this! This type of spam even makes me blush, and I am not easily embarrassed!

We are now cleaning spam posts regularly. In addition, I have turned on the new user post moderation feature, which forces newly registered user's first post to be reviewed before they appear.

How about adding a few more moderators to this forum?
Because "regularly" means like after a dozen or more spam postings have popped up...

Now that we require first post to be approved for new accounts, things seem to be much better. (we haven't fully found all previous spammers already posted so it's still possible for them to post more spam, but we have someone moderating this forum regularly now).
