Is the ability to send crystals broken?

I'm using IE 8 and it hasn't been working at all for at least 3 days. It never brings up a friends list, and instead just tells me to click to send more, again with no friends popping up. Any solutions (aside from changing browsers) are welcomed.

I never had much luck with IE - I had no choice but to change browser I'm afraid
