You wanna make this game profitable? Here you go. I've held these ideas for quite a while, and I am throwing them out now, free of charge.
1) Stat cap has got to go. This game is about how big and bad your character can become, not restraining it.
2) Weekly specials. Give us items like a drow ring of greed, which causes monsters to drop 10% more gold when defeated. Make it a hard item to find, say 1% MB chance or thereabouts, and at the same time, offer players an option to buy it outright for gems. There's plenty of ideas to tweak the existing items as such. How about a lucky fallen battle armor of speed +9, which boosts the GoD encounter rate by 10% or some percentage? You're not just limited to items that already exist either. How about an item that does nothing but boost your recharge rate on energy by 1 minute, making it 5 minutes per energy instead of 6. I would pay out the nose in gems for it, and I bet a lot of players would as well. Just be creative with what you already have. This shouldn't require any super coding, and no new artwork. It just takes using a little bit of imagination.
3) Here's an item that is competely new. I call it the "gambling token", though you can call it whatever. Have it drop from puzzles and mystery boxes at a 2% rate. What do you do with these tokens, you might ask? Why, you use them at the Dream World casino, which I am sure you can just latch onto any town. Demon Gates has a spot open, since it have no wall, stick it there. Take out the coins option from the Guardian buying menu and let people buy gambling tokens for gems if they so desire.
What does the casino do? It lets you use your token for a chance at a wide variety of prizes. No alien armor or fairy dust, none of that crap. Give away learning points, stat pills, genius and heroic, make the jackpot 5 points in a random stat. Make items that can ONLY be won from the casino via gamlbing tokens. I'm sure you can fill in the prize table without resorting to junk like alien armor, etc. We don't need fancy animation for any of this gambling either. Rip off the slot machine from Time World and modify it for us, easy enough.
Anyway, enough rambling from me. I doubt any of this is going to even be read, let alone considered. I'm only trying to suggest ideas to refresh and rejuvenate this game, an area that has, until now, been failed miserably in. We love this game, and we want it to succeed.
