Kong / FB Merge

Postby snowus » Sat Dec 09, 2017 5:12 pm

There is so much lag time on Kong after it was merged with FB Time World its not even funny anymore.
Many DC and more then ever the game takes forever to to move around on.
I am not the only 1 that has this problem it is across the board in most cases.
You can say what you want. This game has slowed down to a crawl for a lot of us.
We never had any where near this kind of slow down/Lag before.

Hi snowus,

The server is showing very healthy and responsive. It's under very light load as well except for the 5 minute daily backup that happens around 11pm server time (2am Eastern). Do you have a specific feature/screen or time where you feel the lag or disconnects are most frequent?

What metrics are you using for server health? if its cpu /memory load it isnt a very good indication. Can you profile the request/response time?

The server response times are pretty much all under 100ms, with mass majority under 20ms. There are cases where the client need to download additional image/swfs/files before displaying the server result and that time depends on your connection speed and connection distance/route to the Amazon cloud/servers. We tested various game features during the day and even using a VPN server from half way around the world they load pretty fast with each click taking no more than half of second to display the result (unless we load a new image/file), with zero disconnects.

If you are still see slow responses first time you go into a feature or load new images, you might want to make sure you browser is set to cache files and you aren't clearing them all the time or playing in private/incognito mode which disables the browser cache.
