the more stars the better
It seems white is one star , green 2, blue 3, purple 4
evo level 2 + 1
evo level 3 + 2
so a purple pet evo 3 has 6 stars
a blue pet evo 2 has 4 stars
based on stars depends how many skill points you gain going up a level
