Could you please tell me, If I'm in chapter N, will I get a box for reaching chapter 10? Or did I fuck up by beating chapter 9 already and no point in waiting in N for the update?

Too late. The chapter 10 gift box would have been sent to you when you were in chapter 9. When the new expansion hit, you will be credited with a chapter 11 gift box.
