Do you get 700 or 700x0.2 = 840 Gems.

you get 840 gems, if this is your first purchase, dont spend all on gem recruits haha... unless you plan to get more later

Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. I think to understand how gem recruit is good and bad really requires you to give it a shot and have your own experiences.

For new player Gem Recruit is good thing.
You should consider it around levels 50-60, when you have enough Command Points to use this 6* cards.
Don't forget that good cards use 18-20 CP each.

what i meant was, keep some gems to get energy potions because you want to level up quickly to use your cards
