Sometimes it says +50% exp when I strengthen, is that luck? or how do you get 50% bonus?

Any other secrets in strengthening I should know about?

pure luck on bonus strengthening... use all same element to strengthen for a small bump in overall %, and if you do get lucky with a +50% it will go a lot further... also the +50% with some jewel dragons in the mix will give one hell of a bump- so don't avoid them.

Kev, you also recieve a small exp bonus for using the same coloured monsters when strengthening.

In experiments with Exp dragons I found that using same color cards give you around 18-20% bonus experience.

You guys mean using the same color sacrifices or same color as the card you are enhancing or both?

Same colour sacrifice.

Ie: Feed 3* dark cards to your more important 6* dark card, etc. Always do your best to use the same colour for that small increase.
