Glad to hear. Make sure he knows that next war we will probably battle it out since this card was in my opinion the best GB card as of yet.

Being first/second gives u the same card. Not sure how u think battling it out would help you with ur card...

Perhaps he just wants to show his appreciation to playmage for the last guild war card by overpaying for the upcoming inferior card?

Yeah but then our non spenders don't get as many gems to help them and we don't have as much gp to spend on revive portions.

Showing appreciation yes. Overspending for a card only if you look at it like that. I'm simply getting a two for one. Get a card that's better than most gem draws I do plus get gp for potions and potentially a 6* card that may show up in shop. 10 gems for 1250 ish gp. So 16 bucks if you buy 10 gems at a time. For 20k gp. Enough for a 6* card if you wait for it. Better than 3 gem draws most of the time. Plus I get a little experience from battles. You should start looking at the glass half full so you don't regret the money you put into the game.
