How is the guild war score calculated?

I've noticed this before in previous wars but there doesn't seem to be any consistency to the score received when battling the guild war boss.

For instance I have often received more points for almost killing it than I have for actually killing it which can't be correct. It's just happened again. On some of my previous attempts I've been awarded scores from 1237 to 1240 after killing it. Last time however I had almost killed it when it killed me so I didn't think it worth using a revive and yet I got 1242 points!

Surely if you kill it you ought to get a significantly better score or some sort of bonus. It just doesn't add up. Can someone from support explain please.

I am glad someone brought this up because i was thinking the same and would of let it pass but I agree. This did not make sense when my first go at her I spent 19 revives to kill her and got 1225 points. Then I figured I could go into battle until I died and get over 1/4 the points with way less damage to her. So I played that route. I was severely disappointed in the way the points came out. W.t.f. gives on this? I did so little damage and the points acted like I did 25% damage.

if i remember correctly the points given out is more linient than it use to be. this was changed to make it more fair for people who can't kill the gw boss every go. as for exact formula of how many you get for % done i have no idea.

Hi, the guild war points are rewarded exactly as Byce said. The rewarded points grow non-linearly so that lower level players can also have chances to earn some scores and the gap between non-spending top players and gem-spending top players will not be too big.

OK. I thought I had read some where if you do X% of damage you get X points? Is that on this forum or did I read that somewhere else and does it change from war to war?

For x% of damage u indeed get y points, the x-y curve just isnt linear...

To me it feels like the first 50% of the bosses HP gives 200 points per 1/8 of it's health, after you hit 50% it feels like it goes down to 100 points per 1/8th damage dealt. I am sure this isn't 100% accurate but it feels close.

Hi Browncoat, it's because the damage your last hit dealt to the boss varies. That damage is also calculated and added to your guild points according to a formula.

That still doesn't answer my question as to how you can get more points when you don't kill it than when you do. That's just not right.
