Block and/or mute

Block and/or mute

Is there a way we'd be able to stop a player who has been removed from the guild from re-accessing or commenting in chat?

There is no way to do that right now unless you raise the requirement to above his level. Guild Wall is the only place new members has access to actually. If this person is being abusive in the guild wall or spamming so much that it becomes disruptive, you can send us a private message or email with the person in-game name, level, and guild name and we can look into it.

In light of this, could you consider a report system?

Context: League of Legends has a 'report' function where you can write to a mod team regarding someone being a jerk. They look into claims and take appropriate action (often being a soft ban of 72 hours or something).

As communication gets larger in this game (implementation of private messaging) this kind of problem will grow. It's natural for problems to grow as you provide more means for it. It'll move from one idiot harassing a guild and develop into single target messages.

Understandable if you don't put in a whole report system (who would monitor it, why, and for what personal benefit?) But a minimum of a 'block user' feature has to come in at some point in time if private messaging does.

Thoughts: If you do have a report message/player function, you could consider hiring esteemed members of the community (maybe 100 or so) to do it? For every 10 reports they filter through, they gain 5 gems or something. Maybe have requirements like - Played for 3 months minimum, above level X, use forums.

The initial implementation of the messaging system will only be available between friends, and the easiest way to block/mute someone is to remove them from your friends list.
