Depends on how it is implemented.. a free for all trade is probably never going to happen or it will limited to certain cards. Anyway, they have to make a living like everyone else..

trading cards between players would definitely break the game. Any player could just build a bunch of alts then trade their starting 6*'s to their main as an easy example of why this is a bad idea. But trading cards to the game for random recruits (like say 2-3 6*'s traded in for random 6*, or 1 6* plus 50 gems for random 6*, etc), I think would be a decent alternative that wouldn't result in the game being broken by collusion (Also an idea I'd already brought up with pm response that they've no plans to implement at this time)...

Hi Gizmet, thanks for the suggestion. Yes, it's been decided that the in-game trading system will not be introduced into the game because it could leave the game open to exploit.
