That happened because both of them were in the raid boss at the same time and Andrew finished first and left some HP, however Denise was already in the boss stage when he finished so Denise had the full HP of the boss that Andrew had. Andrew would have received one card for his attack on the boss and Denise would have gotten 2. The boss is not broken, it just doesn't kick people from the battle when the required amount of HP of the boss is defeated and lets everyone finish.
