Hi Titus, I have replied your private message but as there may be some other relatively new players who are not familiar with how the game works, I will also post the reply here and try to explain more in detail:
First of all, there are no different resources of getting the chests. The chests you get during a battle, no matter you get them before you killing the boss or after you killing the boss, they are all from the same resource - the specific stage that you just fought. We made it that a chest will definitely drop when a player kill the final wave of monsters to prevent a player from getting 0 chests after defeating a stage. That chest is no different than the other chests. Therefore, the last chest that a player get from killing the last wave of monsters is neither guaranteed to be a gold chest, nor guaranteed to be the boss card or the 4th collectible card; the card dropping rules apply to the last chest just like they apply to any other chests; it's not guaranteed that if you got two brown chests or two gold chests, the items in the two brown chests or two gold chests will be different.
In case anyone is wondering, here is how the card dropping mechanism works: "In addition to the Exp, coins, and other regular rewards for completing a stage, each stage has a bonus card reward. If you collect all possible card drops listed on the left side of the stage info, you will be given the special card listed on the right side as a one-time reward." The item in each chest is generated randomly and independently according to the drop rates of possible card drops in that stage. Only the stage bonus card reward is fixed. Usually, the brown chests drop the first and second collectible cards and the gold chests drop the 3rd and 4th collectible cards.
The card dropping on time-limited events uses the same rules as those in the normal map stages. The Apocalypse stages are also time-limited bonus stages. What ZOOT meant is the drop rates of the 4th collectible card in time-limited bonus stages are designed to be lower than those in normal map stages. No player can change the drop rates and we have set up the drop rate of each collectible item before releasing the stages.
Boss cards in time-limited stages are very strong and not intended to be easily obtainable. They are never intended to be gotten within one try, unless you are extremely lucky. If you have to spend a lot of money to defeat a stage, it's suggested that you build a stronger team before re-trying that stage.
You can get brown chests and gold chests repeatedly by re-fighting the stage. Again, the card in each chest is randomly generated and it's not likely that you will get exactly what you have previously gotten.
The game, just like other casino theme game, has been imbued with many random mechanisms, such as the card drop, the wheel of fortune, the card recruiting system, the guild shop. The randomness is the main feature of this kind of games and it's what makes the game so fun for the players who love casino games and enjoy the random aspects. We design 4 difficulty levels (normal, difficult, insane, hell) so that players from all levels can play. If you are having a hard time defeating the hell stage, you can fight the insane stage instead. We never encourage players to dump money in fighting the stages out of their power range. We don't demand money from players. We provide the options for the players who enjoy and love Dragon Era to support the game and speedy their progress. We also provide many ways for players to achieve good results by devoting time and effort: we give out a considerable amount of gems via different ways and make most of the good cards available in guild shop. If you have doubts about anything else, you can consult us, your guild mates or veterans in this forum before spending your hard-earned money.
Hope these address your doubts. This is a rather friendly community where the veterans are more than willing to give out advises and clarifications, so please keep in mind that these players are just answering your doubts out of pure good intentions.
Enjoy the game!
