New pet bosses lvl misslabled?

So I have been beating lvl 40 pet bosses no problem for a while. I just tried a lvl 40 medusa and got beat down hard. Is the level of the boss misslabled? Seems like it was a lvl 50 boss

Have to thank the game admins for this minor incident though - enabled a small window where it was possible to get the blue dragon avatar frame through "legit" channels. lol. That avatar frame was all I ever wanted since I started playing this game~
