Again, maybe we just fix the way the game works.
1. Dodge is stupid. Get rid of it.
2. Tier 2 pets should not fire before a tier 7.

Maybe if y'all fixed the issues that everyone has been talking about for 6 months, players that have 10,0000 less power won't be getting lucky on last minute snipes of higher arena ranks.

Fix the game. Add more content.

I think the OP is complaining about being sniped by someone with about same amount of power (based on their power ranking). If we don't get better ideas or refinements, we may add the 10 minute battle time limit + re-challenge cooldown.

Maybe you could add some sort of "action button". Make to so the AI won't continue its action until the action button is pushed. And if action isn't done within 1 min the fight is lost by the player not taking action. This would stop anyone from backgrounding app and being able to win.

That doesn't prevent the sniping player controlling the battle pace by backgrounding every few seconds. Even they may not be able to do end the battle in the last few seconds due to poor pace control, but even if the battle ends in the last couple minutes, it's pretty impossible for the defending player to recapture the rank unless they already also started a battle before the rank has been swapped. The dev team has confirmed that the server now have a 5 minute time limit and battle cool down, so sniping is pretty only possible done by a player with similar strength, and in that case defender would need to be online and ready to snipe back in the last second as well.
