Upgrade ACTIVE SKILL

Postby TuLegas » Fri Oct 03, 2014 8:02 pm

Hello everyone! I need advice on what's the best way to upgrade your cards active skill like Blackbeard and Achilles.
Should u go for I card at a time(15%)chance or 6 cards (90%)chance or go random like 4 cards(60%)chance.
I'm asking this base on your experience what work out for you best.

Thanks in advance!

TuLegas,

There is no real right or wrong answer to be honest. Do what you feel most comfortable with. If you're capable of farming up 54 Ice Pinnochio's to do the 9 skill ups at 90%, then be my guest.

Some do 15%, some do 30%. Do what you're comfortable with.

When Faith was around, I was doing 90% skill ups, but there was only 4 skills to do. With Blackbeard needing 10 it's another kettle of fish.

my preferences is to do either just 1. or all 6. i usually dont like halfways cuz if im gambling on half a chance. id rather cut it short to just 1 and try more times for possibly more lvls.
That and i hanvt even got one of the water pinocchios yet :P and unless they are rotating the wonderlands again im gonna stick to 1s [i got 1 5* and 2 4* earth pinocchios last time :(]

if you have 6 card as mat:

use 1, 6 times = 1-0.85^6 = 62.28%
use 2, 3 times = 1-0.7^3 = 65.7%
use 3, 2 times = 1-0.55^2 = 69.75%
use 4, then 2 = 1-0.4*0.7 = 72%
use 5, then 1 = 1-0.25*0.85 = 78.75%
use all 6 = 90%

Dont think that math is correct, there are formulas with several factors for these kind of problems. The above doesnt seem correct to me

No I agree. It's like the lottery, doing one @ 15% chance 6 times doesn't give you increased odds, you simply have 6 individual 15% chances.
I have personally never had a skill increase using one on it's own, I've only ever achieved an increase when using all 6. Infact I've had it fail sometimes even then!!

Actually, gravebella's math is correct. The skill level up mechanism is indeed programmed so that using 6 at same time yields better odds than using 1 card 6 times.

Unlike bonuses, success odds mechanisms stacking additively will benefit the players more. Simplest example is if each material gives 50% success, and if the game allows you to use 2 at the same time for 100% success, then you definitely want to use two at the same time instead of separately (which would be only 75%).

Note: This is only applies to the overall success rate and assuming you have no other use for the extra chances (cards) you can save if you succeed sooner using one at a time method.
