Guild Shop observation...

Postby Sigourney » Mon Jun 22, 2015 9:39 pm

I work at home, so needless to say, I have the time to check the guild shop VERY Frequently, ....and by Very Frequently , i mean to say, i may only miss a couple of refreshes a day b/c i SLEEP...that being said, the availability of any 5* and 6* cards is so unbelievably rare, it borders on non-existent in a lvl 7 shop. For the past year, i have been unable to spend my guild points, on anything other than baby dragons...which are common (as they should be). Other than dragon building, it seems as if hard earned guild points are basically worthless for players above lvl 100 to improve their deck of good cards.....lvl 5* and 6* cards should NOT be this hard to stumble upon in the guild shop....its way out of proportion...and I do spend alot of cash on gems...I shouldn't have to waste all my guild points on potions because their is nothing else EVER to buy...

Hi Sigourney, the drop rates of 6 star cards in guild shop are relatively lower as we don't want it to devalue and affect the gem recruitment too much. Besides good cards and potions, you can also buy jewel dragons or other material cards in it to strengthen your strong cards.

I think "relatively lower" is an understatement concerning the frequency of 5* and 6* cards in the shop, and considering I do purchase gems on a regular basis, the fact that I am unable to utilize guild points on anything other than "strengthening" items or potions, devalue's the games overall enjoyment considerably.

Its unfortunate that a player who does "pay to play" is discouraged to do so, because your worried that your free players will have less incentive to buy gems...which they don't do anyway. Most free players don't have 100k+ guild points rotting....

I fail to see the logic in this, why don't you reward players who do buy gems, with much greater spawn of worthwhile cards in the shop, if you want to encourage those who pay, to CONTINUE to play...

alternatively, you could narrow down the spawn list for 5* and 6* cards to ones which are actually useful (i. e. cut out birdman garuda and his equivalents, and ghost ship, for example). then at least on the rare occasions when a 6* card does appear, it's something for a player to actually get excited about (instead of being the third time they've seen a birdman or cat thief, which is really just kind of a slap in the face). And there's plenty of truly premium cards (apep and chimera, for example) which can only be gotten through gem recruits and keep their value high regardless of how often the other cards appear in shop.
Something else to think about, it takes a fair number of free players enjoying the game (and not feeling like there's nothing they can do if they don't pay to win) to attract the players who will pay (but won't bother with a game that nobody wants to play). There's plenty of advantage to be had by spending money as it is, but by making it a virtual requirement to get anywhere I think you're doing more damage than good to your bottom line, both by losing that base of free players that will reccomend the game to ones who will pay and by turning off the players who do pay, but are getting frustrated with the idea that they HAVE to pay every time they want anything nice (especially since gem recruiting is still a crap shoot in terms of how useful the cards you get will actually be).

"especially since gem recruiting is still a crap shoot in terms of how useful the cards you get will actually be."

Exactly, 95% of the random 200 gem draw cards will be the 3rd or 4th duplicate of most 6* cards I already own, or have already upgraded to a 7*. The rare chance I will receive a card that works towards a 8*, or is one I don't already own, is soo unlikely , that random 200 gem draws are Not worth it anymore. Its worse odds than a crappy casino slot machine in Vegas. And......what the heck is with all the Cat burglars or Birdman Garuda's being almost the only 6* cards i ever see in the shop...thats obviously NOT by chance......its time to mix it up...

I would also like to remind the admin, that Facebook players are most likley NOT playing on a portable device, IE: Phones or tablets, were sitting at our PC's, this fact alone prevents most FB players from checking the guild hall shop nowhere near as often as someone on a mobile device....Plz take that into account when thinking about shop spawn rate.

I actually have the chance to check shop every 6 hours even through the night. That lets you see 2 shops at once. Since November there have been maybe 6 or 7 cards that were worth buying, all from a level 7 shop
