Gem recruit question

My point of contention is not having to pay, it's the fact that you can pay tons of money but get nothing in return. You wouldn't give a car dealer 100k and take the chance you could drive away in an Aston Martin or maybe just a Mini would you?
The way the gem recruit system works is what I have a major problem with. If I'm paying real cash to buy cards then I want to know I have a fair chance of getting value for money. Only 1 in 11 card purchases having a chance of being even a half decent 6* card is definitely not value for money. A fair way to do it would be to have different star rated cards available for differing amounts of gems. All this talk of 'randomness' is incorrect when it comes to gem recruits because that is actually 'fixed'. How is that fair? If you want randomness then we should have a random chance for gem recruits to give us any card in the game, even 8* ones including the best cards there are, and any that aren't available to win in wars any longer. That would be true randomness, but 'fixing' it to only give out particular, low value cards is totally unfair when real money is spent on them.
Honestly, what would it hurt for Playmage to give us better rewards? It's not like we can actually do anything with them apart from have a bit more fun within the game. We can't sell them in the real world, or even give them away, so I really don't understand why playing fair with us is not an option?

Inaccurate comparison. Going to a car dealership, you plan to purchase a specific item, like downloading an app for a dollar. You are trading a set amount of money for a set item. It is not a lottery system. The game is called Dragon Era Slots Adventure. It is a lottery system. When you buy a lottery ticket, you do not expect to win (I hope). You are paying for the CHANCE to win. Likewise, when you pay for gems to spend on gem recruits, you are paying for the CHANCE to win. If you do not understand that fundamental difference, spending your money on it is irresponsible. Ppl need to understand that they are not paying for success. They are paying for a chance at it. Once you understand that, you can be responsible with how much you are willing to spend on the game and get used to accepting what you get for it. Stop hammering Playmage for trying to stay in the black.

Ppl would get good cards too quickly, beat the game, and lose interest. PM doesn't want to lose players, which is exactly what happens when you make easy games. Have you ever heard of a business that wanted to lose customers? The obvious counterargument is that "making the cards easier to get will draw a bigger audience!" And I assure you that if PM felt that it would gain more players from increasing gem recruit rewards than it would lose from them finishing the game too quickly, it would already have made that adjustment.

I think it's more complex than what is being discussed, gem recruits is a very useful tool with many 4* cards 5* cards and 6* cards. Trying to hit the jackpot by getting an ultra rare 6* is not the only goal. I haven't hit the jackpot (HP cards ...) yet but I've greatly increased my teams strength by using the cards I did draw. Many cards that are purchased in the gem recruit have good functional value, you can use your 4* dragons and evolve them up, same with 5* cards and even 6* cards.

You also get sailor miles for Gem recruits and you can redeem these to get a good HP card without burning through too many sailor miles.

I think if anyone should complain it should be the top level player that just needs one or two cards to complete a personal goal.

Gem recruits does a more than adequate job of rewarding players who purchase them. Keep in mind you can also earn gems without spending money.

I feel gem recruits is one of the most integral parts of the game, I wouldn't be against enhancing this feature by adding additional ways to recruit. I'm sure Playmage has thought about this though and they know what they are doing.

What about all the new players, that spend and get Jack $hit? Wouldn't you think they would quit first? Now that i think of it new players probably have a better chance at quality cards, just for that reason...but lets believe its fair and they get crap like us...there would be no reason to keep playing...so give new players crap for money spent..you just lost money potentially, because had that person pulled decent cards..what's the chances they will spend again..id say they are pretty high, much higher than screwing someone...i agree its fixed not random in gem recruit...how is it random when every tenth is guaranteed?, and playmage changing the single recruits to be exact same as bonus recruit was pretty weak....they realized it was better and made it just as bad as bonus....lets face it most changes to this game have been bad for the gamer. At the end if the day..we've told pm again and again to make it better, and it hasn't happened nor should you expect it to...can't trade them, can't sell them...only for personal satisfaction....give people what they want...who cares if they get bored a bit faster, it'll happen sooner or later...33 bucks for one random 6 star is pretty expensive, the other 10 cards are typically fodder, so one third of 1500 gems is gone which costs 100 bucks...equals $33.33 for most likely a crap six...that is bang for your buck, i tell you what!...or you spend the entire hundred bucks...worst case scenario 3 junk 6s, and 27 cards you can use as food, how's that for value? Lets say your lucky beyond your wildest dreams and all 6s were the same (also able to go up to 8* lol) 100 bucks netted you a 7.5*...not even an 8* for a hundred bucks...seriously? Am i missing something?

Hi mee, please rest assure that all players have the same chance at any 4-6 star cards when using gem recruits. The draw outcome is pure random except that we added 2 guarantees: the 10th draw to be a random 6 star card if the former 9 do not include one; the first single draw after tutorial will be 5 star or better. The guarantee 6 star card and the 5+ star are also randomly picked from the 6 star card pool and the 5 star and 6 star card pool.
Enjoy the game!

Why can't the tenth be a 6 regardless if you get one in the first 9 cards. The way you worded it sounded like you can only get one 6 star card in a bonus pull "10th draw to be a random 6 star card if the former 9 do not include one". So if it does include one in the first nine that's your guaranteed 6 star? That doesn't seem right to me. Why can't players benefit from multiple six star draws. In my opinion first ten should be completely random, and 11th should be your guaranteed 6 star. Again ten completely random cards should be drawn, no checking no stopping completely random followed by another complete random pull for your six. Single pulls should have no guarantee, as that is why there is the bonus pull.......

P.s. Added two guarentees? Uhhh bonus recruit already guarenteed you a six star, now because the tenth card is 6 if you didn't get one in first nine, no chance for multiple sixes..I'm no rocket scientist but I'd say you took away not added.

And first card after tutorial has always been a 6 star, now it can be a possible 5? You lessened that too?

P.s.s "The guarantee 6 star card and the 5+ star are also randomly picked from the 6 star card pool and the 5 star and 6 star card pool."...say what?

Only thing I can figure out from ur posts is that u are unhappy about the guaranteed 6* draw if the nine before weren't 6*? I'd say they made the 11 card draw better, by not guaranteeing ur eleventh card a 6* but ur tenth... Why would u want to make that worse again?

I think random in the gem draw is random cards from either the 4* card pool, the 5* card pool or the 6* card pool... For example ur odds per drawn card are:

60% chance at RANDOM 4* card
30% chance at RANDOM 5* card
10% chance at RANDOM 6* card

10-draw timer (resets when getting 6*) results in:
100% chance at RANDOM 6* card

Current advantage of 11card draw over single card draw: 1 free card (counts towards next timer) + 100 free miles

This is my personal interpretation of the gem draw system, so it doesnt necessarily need to be the truth.

/makes sign of the cross and prepares for this to go really badly

Okay. Every time you draw a card, whichever draw method you use, it is randomly either a 4-star, a 5-star, or a 6-star, except in the following situations:
-if it is your very first draw of the game file, your card will be a six star.
-if your last nine cards, through the method you are currently using, were all 4- or 5-stars, this card will automatically be a 6-star.

In any other case, the card is random. What this means:

-It is possible to get nine 4- or 5-stars followed by a 6-star through EITHER METHOD
-It is possible to get ten straight 6-stars through EITHER METHOD
-It is possible to get a 4-star, then a 5-star, then a 6-star, then seven more 4's and 5's through EITHER METHOD
-It is possible to get a 4-star, then a 5-star, then a 6-star, then six more 4's and 5's and one more 6 through EITHER METHOD
-You will now, thanks to the new buff on the bonus gem recruits, get AT LEAST one 6-star every ten cards you draw, and it is possible to get more.

What this DOES NOT mean (all of these statements are FALSE):

-If you get a 6-star, the next nine cards will not be 6-stars--FALSE
-When you use the 500-gem recruit method, you will only receive one 6-star at most--FALSE
-The 50-gem method is better than the 500-gem method in ANY way--FALSE (always use 500-gem if you can; it's better in every conceivable way thanks to PM's recent buff)

In the four+ months I have been playing this game, PM has NOT ONCE made gem recruits worse IN ANY WAY. They have been transparent about exactly how they change it every time, and every time, it is for the benefit of the players, giving us more for our money. I cannot speak for the time before I played, but if you have a problem with the changes they have made in the time period I've been playing, you are not reading the information placed in front of your face. Or you're a fan of burning your cash.
